Ugh

Are we at Rock Bottom yet? Well losing 82-58 to Rider, at HOME. Is close to rock bottom. Though that 12/22 game against West Virginia, might just be an outright slaughter that just leads the AD to cancel the season. You shouldn't get blown out by Rider at home, ever. On the road, when half the team is sick, sure, but not this.

Well Julius Coles led the team in scoring with 13 points, Frank Turner had 7 points and 7 assists, those were the highlights. The main story here is they have zero defense. Two straight games a team shot the lights out on this team. This game Rider shot 55.9%. Hey how about contesting a few shots. Get some hands up, you guys can shoot at most 40% a game. So if you don't play some kick ass defense you will lose every game.

So Coach Parrotta what do you have to say?

Tonight was pretty frustrating,” Canisius head coach Tom Parrotta said. “I thought when Frank Turner picked up his second personal foul in the first half it changed the complexion of the game. We came out and went toe-to-toe with them, but then they turned up the pressure and went to the big fella [Jason Thompson] and he showed why he’s one of the premier players in this league.

So one guy got into foul trouble leading you to back off and get decimated inside by their go to guy? How about double teaming him? He shot 11 for 15 for 25 points and he only had 4 free throw attempts, obviously no one was around him. Game planning please? Well being beaten inside by a good big man is not unusual for us Griff fans. Its the norm. Who knows when they will win a game, maybe not til next year. Right now losing a close one is a goal.

Next game Saturday vs Coastal Carolina at 415 at the Koessler Athletic Center.
