Sabres Leafs Preview

Hey a Friday night home game against the Leafs? Bring on down the douchebag Leaf fan! Well its time for the Sabres to grab some quick cash from gouging the Leaf fan. Not that I can argue with that. They are known for paying outrageous prices to watch their team play mediocre hockey. You would think they would go, hey!, but whats the incentive for the Leafs management to get better if they are already maximizing revenue, well making the playoffs would help revenue, but anyway. So 4 times a year, Leaf fan gets to make a cross border trip to check out the Mats Sundin and Darcy Tucker. Well good thing Ill be in the bar watching with fellow Sabre fans, expect for that one douchebag who roots against the Sabres. Why? Whats the point. You getting hit by a car wouldn't be the worse thing in the world.

Previous Matchups

Well this is the 2nd of 8 matchups. With the Sabres winning the last matchup 5-4 in OT, with Bryan McCabe scoring the game winner for the Sabres.

So Whats Up with the Leafs?

Apparently McCabe and Tucker were hurt, so they should be back in the lineup. Is Wellwood healthy yet? Yes? Damn. Well the Leafs have gone 4-4-1 since their loss to the Sabres. So they aren't setting the world on fire and are 2 points ahead of the Sabres in the Northeast, and have played 2 more games.

Stat wise Mats Sundin is having a pretty good year so far with 21 points in 16 games this year. And Nik Antropov is also a surprise, with 16 points and he is a +9 which is shocking. Jason Blake is looking as the setup guy with 12 assists and only 2 goals. Old friend Darcy Tucker only has 5 points this year. It looks like the Leafs are led by 1 line. After the top 3 there is a slight drop off to the next forward line. Kubina and Kaberle are having pretty decent year on the blue line both having 11 points and Kubina is a +7. Leaf fans are probably not happy to see McCabe back with his -6.

Game Outlook

Well the Sabres are coming off a good win on Wednesday. And are looking to build on that win, plus they usually play well against the Leafs. But you never know with these Sabres on who will show up game in game out. Their defensive injury woes, are still a problem with a question whether Pratt or Spacek will play or neither of them. Thus letting Suckera back there again. He is brutal. Please make it stop. I'm not gonna predict anything because I'm not good at it so I'll let it play it self out.

But if you want me, you can catch me at the bar.
